The future Â鶹Դ´ campus in North Las Vegas has officially broken ground. Anchored by a three-story academic building within the NLV Gateway development, the campus will bring education, training, and support services closer to the community.
The campus, expected to open in fall 2027, will feature a three-story, 30,000-square-foot academic building and serve as the anchor of the âNLV Gateway,â a 19-acre mixed-use development.
The project is supported through a public-private partnership that includes funding from the City of North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency, the Â鶹Դ´ Legislature, NV Energy Foundation and a generous anonymous donor.

Â鶹Դ´ is excited to share that an official license plate is on the way! Senate Bill 181âsponsored by State Senator Michelee Cruz-Crawford and passed unanimously by the Â鶹Դ´ Legislatureâwas signed into law by Governor Joe Lombardo this past Friday, officially authorizing the creation of the Â鶹Դ´ State plate.
Proceeds from the license plate will directly support Â鶹Դ´ Stateâs new athletics program and help address food insecurity among students.
âWeâre thrilled to offer our community another way to show their pride and passion for Â鶹Դ´ State,â said Dr. DeRionne Pollard, President of Â鶹Դ´. âThis license plate is more than just a symbol of school spiritâitâs an investment in our students, our athletics, and the future of Â鶹Դ´.â
The license plate will be available to order through the Â鶹Դ´ Department of Motor Vehicles Fall of 2025.

On Friday, the NSHE Board of Regents took a major step toward a bold vision set in motion 23 years ago, approving Â鶹Դ´âs first satellite campus in the heart of Downtown North Las Vegas.
In partnership with the City of North Las Vegas, Â鶹Դ´ State will be leasing a new three-story, 30,000-square-foot facility as part of the NLV Gateway development at Lake Mead Blvd. and Las Vegas Blvd. North. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026, with doors opening to students in fall 2027.
We are excited to expand our footprint in a city thatâs already central to our student community. In fact, 1 in 5 Â鶹Դ´ State students currently live within five miles of this new campus. The North Las Vegas Campus will make it easier for current and future Scorpions to earn their degrees closer to home, work, and family.
We are deeply grateful to all our partners who made this possible:
- The @cityofnlv and Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown for a bold partnership grounded in shared purpose and opportunity.
- The NSHE (@nvhighered) Board of Regents, including Chair Byron Brooks, Vice Chair Stephanie Goodman, and Regent Amy Carvalho, for unanimously approving the lease agreement.
- Assemblywoman Daniele Monroe-Moreno for securing an appropriation to support this campus, the legislature for their unanimous approval, and Governor @joelombardonv for signing the bill.
- Our faculty, whose leadership will design and shape the programs at the new campus.
- And our generous private donors, including @nvenergy, for investing directly in this campus and our studentsâ futures.
Â鶹Դ´ State was created to serve Â鶹Դ´âs communities. This new campus is the next chapter of that promiseâand we canât wait to build it with you, for you.

History was made as Â鶹Դ´âs first womenâs flag football team took the field at Allegiant Stadium! Ahead of the Raiders vs. Jaguars game, our student-athletes showcased their talent in a team Black vs. team White scrimmage on one of the biggest stages in sports.
âMoments like these remind us that weâre not just playing games; weâre building history together. We canât wait to bring that same energy into our season opener February 2026,â Yvonne Wade, Â鶹Դ´ State Athletics Director.

Proud mother and recent Â鶹Դ´ State graduate Jocelyne Acosta recently crossed the stage earning her psychology. ð
After becoming a mother at 18, Jocelyne refused to let anything hold her back and was determined to show other teen moms whatâs possible with perseverance and self-belief.
âI wanted to prove to myself and other young moms that weâre not limited. We are capable of achieving greatness,â Jocelyne shared.
Happy Motherâs Day to Jocelyne and all the incredible moms who inspire us everyday.
